Embiid has missed the last 10 games while recovering from a concussion and surgery to fix a fractured orbital bone around his left eye.

"Everybody did a really great job as players, as people working in the organization and as staff in trying to support each other and face this moment the way it should be faced as friends", Messina said. Well, the Philly center got a kick out of that.

"I am just so proud of what he did", 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "I thrive in this type of atmosphere and I think I was built for this, especially playoff basketball". The 76ers retook the lead by the end of the third, but the game was still close, 96-94. The 76ers will likely be favored by roughly five points.

The Heat started out the game up 4-0, before the Sixers mounted a comeback behind Marco Belinelli and Robert Covington. "I am going to keep trusting coach's decision-making". Prior to signing that deal, in 2015-16, Whiteside was an All-NBA talent, leading the league in blocks per game at 3.7. I was kind of sad that I couldn't play in that first at home because we have a special connection. I felt like it was time to come back. "I'm excited about (Saturday)".

"So welcoming that, handling it with maturity and sort of professional sophistication of how we create a lead, how we protect the ball, how we continue to not turn it over - we had 12 turnovers - there is a physical style of play that this game will be played with and be and reffed by". "We want to be next to Pop, we want to support him, but we've got to go out there and compete today".
