Carl Frampton's Saturday fight against Nonito Donaire will be broadcast live on BBC radio

Four years Donaire's junior, Frampton picked up early rounds to get ahead on points and could afford to box his way to victory, even if Donaire did deliver a scare in the penultimate round.

All three judges scored the bout 117-111, 117-111, 117-111 declaring the Northern Irishman the victor, and Donaire was quick to congratulate his man in his dressing room after the fight.

"The 11th round I was definitely hurt", admitted the Irishman, who improved his record to 25-1 (14 KOs) and set-up a potential mega-fight against unbeaten WBO regular featherweight champion Oscar Valdez.

"I stuck to the game plan and at times my boxing was lovely", Frampton told BT Sport as he looked forward to having a world-title shot at Belfast's Windsor Park - best known as the home ground of Northern Ireland's football team.

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed an outdoor event at Northern Ireland's national football stadium is next for Frampton.

Donaire, 35, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ruben Garcia Hernandez, and is looking for another run at the top tier of the featherweight division after most recently holding the WBO super bantamweight championship.

The Wizards dominated Game 3 because everybody ate ... literally
Beal poked at Valanciunas after an offensive foul when he tried to take possession of the ball, assumedly to set up a fast break. Washington shot 59.6 percent from the floor, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, and led 69-61 at halftime.

The opening stanza was very competitive with both combatants ripping shots to the body and head while the second clearly belonged to Frampton who sent Donaire back to his corner with significant swelling beginning under his left eye.

More eye-catching blows came from the home favourite in the third, with a couple of sharp rights finding their way through Donaire's high defensive guard.

Frampton was momentarily buzzed by an uppercut after forcing Donaire to the ropes in the seventh but responded valiantly as he traded fierce blows with his older foe.

But Donaire responded to being pushed on the floor in the 11th with some wild hooks that stunned Frampton, who was forced to retreat. I've got a whole lot of sides to my game and I think I showed that.

"Valdez, I'd love Valdez, Selby, Warrington - I'd love any of those".
