The company also made an announcement to facilitate its customer that its customer can use their Jio number with iPhone and Apple watch series 3 cellular. However if the Apple Watch 3 (GPS+Cellular) is connected to an iPhone via Bluetooth, users will be able to make/receive calls if IR facility is active on your Jio number.

Airtel earlier said that the pre-registration for Apple Watch Series 2 will start on May 4, and be available from May 11.

The iPhone-maker launched its third-generation "Apple Watch" in September 2017 in India, priced at Rs 29,900 in gold, silver and space grey aluminium variants. That said, Reliance Jio is also offering priority home delivery to those who already have a Jio connection.

After launching the Apple Watch Series 3 late a year ago, Apple is now all set to launch the cellular variant of the watch in India.

Coming to Airtel, the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular will be available on Airtel Online Store starting May 11. The Apple watch Series 3 and the iPhone will work together on the same tariff plan without any extra expense.

Airtel confirms that the cellular services on the watch to be free for Airtel postpaid customers on an Airtel My Plan or Infinity Plan. First users will have to update to iOS 11.3 and watchOS 4.3, then tap Settings on iPhone General About and follow the prompt to update to the latest carrier settings. In addition to the watch, you will also receive the Jio 4G service directly at your home. The offer will be available for both prepaid and postpaid Reliance Jio users. And another benefit is Jio users using the Apple Watch Series 3 will not need to carry a phone to make phone calls or use internet and apps.

Visitor Location Register (VLR), a key metric reflecting the number of active subscribers on a mobile network, indicated that 108.05% of users were active for Airtel, 94.78% for Vodafone India, 101.72% for Idea and 86.02% for Jio.
