Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led-National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party's governors is now in a meeting.
The details or reason for the meeting was not disclosed to journalists as they were asked to leave the venue of the meeting by the national publicity secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi.
Nigeria's ruling political party, the All Progressives Congress is set after nearly three years at the helm of affairs to host its National Convention which has been scheduled for May, 2018.
Curiously, the incumbent National Chairman of APC, Chief Odigie-Oyegun and immediate past governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, were absent.
National Chairman, has described as ´´absolutely childish´´ the endorsement of the immediate past governor of Edo, Adams Oshiomhole by South-South stakeholders of the party to take over from him.
Emerhor stated further that the incumbent, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, is a worthy son of the zone who has performed creditably and who deserves a first right of refusal.
"More appalling to this impunity are the reports of threats and harassment of APC members who demanded for free and fair congress, as well as those, indicating support for other aspirants other than Oshiomhole".

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met behind closed doors with governors of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
On victory over tenure elongation, the APC leader said, "We fought hard against tenure elongation and now we are going to have our congresses".
He said: "You are all aware of the happenings in the party and luckily one of the decisions taken by NEC was that party positions should be retained in the various jurisdictions that are occupying those positions as at now. I am fulfilled, as I have done my best for the party".
"Some of you who have spent two, three, four terms as ward, local government and state executive members, it is time to go".
"But Bayelsa State APC chairman Joseph Fafi said the endorsement was 'an ambush" because the meeting was not set out to endorse anybody.
The party chieftain said the committee members, headed by Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, were people of character and he expected nothing less from them. We have observed that this is the fourth year APC was established.
