PDP Decries Assault On Senate/Senators

Melaye is now at the intensive unit of the National Hospital, Abuja, after he allegedly jumped off a police vehicle while being transported to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital to face criminal charges. He is stable for now.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, from Lagos State, has warned lawmakers against linking the travails of embattled Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye to the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

The NAH spokesman, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, confirmed on Wednesday that Melaye was still receiving treatment, adding that he could not provide information on his health.

"We also heard there was insistence to remove him from the National Hospital and I think the hospital insisted that there must be an undertaking and nobody is willing to sign", he told lawmakers.

After criminal suspects Kabiru Saidu, a.k.a Osama, and Nuhu Salisu, a.k.a Small, were arrested at Ogojueje in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State on January 19, 2018, they confessed to the police that Melaye hired them to cause unrest in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.
