Police in OH have arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of shooting his 11-year-old brother dead in what appears a deliberate attack.

The judge asked the 13-year-old if he understood the charges.

According to police in Streetsboro, Ohio, officers responded to Alden Drive Monday night at approximately 9:30 p.m. for reports of a juvenile that sustained a gunshot wound.

It appears the 11-year-old boy was shot in the back, according to police. Officers believe the elder brother shot the 11-year-old in a premeditated attack.

According to police, the gun was locked in a cabinet at another family member's home. "Police said the 13-year-old boy dismantled part of the locked cabinet when he couldn't find a key", News Channel 5 reported.

Investigators called the shooting "premeditated" and charged the 13-year-old brother with the juvenile equivalent of aggravated murder.

The 11-year-old boy was a fifth grade student at the Streetsboro City Schools, the district said in a brief statement.
