New VW Golf GTI TCR confirmed to have more power

Volkswagen has released a sketch of part of a hot Golf GTI TCR, which will sit above the GTI Performance but below the Golf R in terms of power. This is the first pictures of the new VW Golf GTI TCR.

Volkswagen has not revealed the sprint of the TCR from 0-100km/h, but says it will hit the top speed at 250km/h, but if you think that is not enough, you can increase it to 264km/h by opting to have the electronic limiter removed. The optional removal of the 250 km/h speed limiter means the auto should be able to notch 264 km/h at the top end. The company will showcase the vehicle at Reifnitz am Worthersee and the Golf GTI TCR will be a special highlight to the participants and visitors.

The new TCR's recipe is one we have seen before: take a Golf GTI and turn up the performance wick.

Kane Williamson in the runs again as Sunrisers qualify for IPL playoffs
His overall tally reached 521 - 28 runs ahead of second-placed Kane Williamson of SRH (493 runs in 11 games) after Matchday 34. The Daredevils had won the toss and elected to bat first with the Sunrisers reputation for defending scores preceding them.

All that power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The new GTI TCR Concept is just such a vehicle, but in VW's words is "very near production". Bespoke TCR graphics and branding will likely complete the package. A front axle differential lock will also be available as standard. The bodywork has also been subtly revised, with an extended front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser.

The GTI TCR will be revealed in full next week and, like the Golf GTI Clubsport Edition 40 from 2016, the GTI TCR will make it to production and end up sitting just beneath the Golf R. It's expected to go on-sale later this year. This latest special-edition model will help achieve this.
