A boat carrying around 40 people was capsized in Godavari River in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. However, at least 23 people continue to be missing even as the rescue and relief operations are underway. The tragedy took place between 4.30 PM to 5 PM near Manturu of Devipatnam Mandal in East Godavari district.

Last year, a boat accident in Vijayawada on the Krishna river claimed as many as 21 lives.
