The new Murphy Brown has a combination of old and new cast members, including Nik Dodani, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, and Grant Shaud. Emmy victor Tyne Daly ("Cagney & Lacey") joins the cast as Phyllis, the sister of the deceased bar owner Phil (played by the late Pat Corley in the original series).
Magnum P.I. will air Mondays at 9/8c on CBS this fall. This time around, however, Magnum is an ex-Navy SEAL who is settling back into civilian life after a tour in Afghanistan. He still is a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan and drives around in a vintage Ferari. Zachary Knighton and Stephen Hill co-star as Magnum's buddies. Stephen Hill plays TC.
Meanwhile, Candace Bergen will be returning to the titular role in Murphy Brown 20 years after the series ended its 10-year, Emmy-winning run.
And remember that CBS passed on a reboot of "Cagney and Lacey" with Sarah Drew and Michelle Hurd.
Another new CBS fall drama, which will air 8-9 Sunday, is "God Friended Me".

On Tuesday nights, viewers will be treated to a brand new drama called "FBI". It's said to be inspired by an experience of pop star Harry Styles, who's also one of the show's producers.
"FBI" will be the first Wolf-produced network show since 2003 that's not on NBC.
Shows that won't be returning include: 9JKL; Kevin Can Wait; Living Biblically; Me, Myself & I; Scorpion; Superior Donuts; Wisdom of the Crowd, and Zoo.
For midseason, CBS announced three series. "The Red Line", a drama about three Chicago families, stars Noah Wyle.
