Prince Harry's office declined to comment on Monday on a report by American celebrity news site TMZ that the father of his fiancee Meghan Markle would not attend the couple's glittering wedding in Britain on Saturday.

More distressing news this morning: TMZ is reporting that Thomas Markle is planning to check himself into the hospital after experiencing more chest pains.

A British Airways flight will celebrate Britain's royal wedding on Saturday by flying to Canada with crew who are all named Harry or Meghan. "I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle", he said.

CNN also contacted General Hospital in Rosarito, Mexico, where Markle is thought to have stayed previously, but officials would not say whether he is there.

Thomas also claimed the decision to skip Meghan and Harry's nuptials was partly due to health concerns after reportedly suffering a heart attack on 8 May (18). Meghan's step-sister Samantha Markle who has been grabbing headlines for her distasteful statements against the royal wedding admitted to arranging the photoshoot but defended her dad and said that there's a lot of scrutiny that it was money motivated, it was not.

The royal family has had a similar situation in the past.

Meghan Markle's half-sister, Samantha, tweeted Monday that she is to blame for the photo debacle.

"Not only is [Markle] upset about the fact that that's not going to happen", ABC News' royal contributor Victoria Murphy said of Markle Sr. attending the wedding, "but she's obviously very anxious about him and what is going on".

It was not immediately possible to reach Thomas Markle for comment and it's not clear if he may change his plans again in the next few days.

Prince Harry is yet to meet his future father-in-law.

The internet cafe photo was just one of several images sold to newspapers around the world that were taken with Markle Sr.'s cooperation. "I'm not saying anything about her, but if I'm talking about my life or my father's, she has to respect it".

"As we know, the media can take very unflattering photographs of people on their casual days and blow it way out of proportion".
