BMW Teases iNext EV

BMW hasn't revealed much else about the auto other than it will be developed in parallel with the i4, another all-electric sedan which like many forthcoming BMW products, would certainly also have semi-autonomous driving capability.

"The iNEXT project is our building kit for the future".

It's not the first time we've seen the iNEXT.

Mr Krueger also added that the iNext will feature "highly automated driving", suggesting the iNext could become a halo model for the iPerformance sub-brand as it shifts its focus more towards autonomy.

During the annual general meeting of BMW, the company released a teaser of upcoming concept which is named as iNext.

Ebola spreads in DRC
Those exposed to the suspected Ebola cases will for the first time in Congo receive Ebola vaccinations, the health minister said. It is emphasized that so far, confirmed cases of EVD have been recorded near the city Bikoro, located 150 km from Mbandaka.

BMW offered a glimpse of its futuristic self-driving iNext vehicle as the automaker seeks to gain momentum in the race to overtake rival Mercedes-Benz in luxury sales.

BMW has offered up its first official "look" at its iNext technology flagship. That iNext too, will sit on a modular platform - BMW even says "if that sounds a bit like Lego, that's roughly the idea". For the first time, we are combining all key technologies for future mobility. BMW has confirmed the iNext will be capable of Level 4 autonomy, but it will not be enabled when it launches due to a lack of regulatory framework surrounding autonomy.

Likewise the i4, which will be build in Munich (no specific timeframe). That's a "glimpse at the design concept", but BMW now plans to unveil a "Vision Vehicle" as the iNEXT later this year. So now you have the same auto that the Internet refers to with two different names, depending on the timeline.

Through April, BMW's global brand sales grew 2.5 per cent, while Mercedes' registrations surged 13 per cent.

Krüger explained that going forward, all fully electric BMW models introduced would carry the i designation.
