Prime Minister Modi terms Karnataka victory as extraordinary, thanks the citizens of the state

The newly elected Congress legislators, who are staying at a resort on the city outskirts, also joined the protest. I had requested her to invite us to from the government being the single largest party in the state.

JD (S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday said the Narendra Modi government wants to demolish democracy in the country and accused the Centre of using agencies like the Enforcement Directorate to threaten MLAs of the Congress-JD (S) combine in Karnataka. Singhvi also cited instances of Meghalaya, Manipur, Goa, Delhi, Jharkhand and J&K as precedents of post-poll alliances being invited to form governments.

He slammed the Congress-JD (S) alliance as "unholy" and charged they were out to grab power though the people had "rejected them outright".

Both the Congress and JD (S) have won 78 and 38 seats respectively.

Senior Congress leaders were wary of Rahul's mood following the Karnataka development.

Caps' Nicklas Backstrom appears closer to return from injury
He pointed to Game 4 against the New Jersey Devils in the opening round, when Kucherov had points on all three Lightning goals. Coach Barry Trotz called him a game-time decision and said early Thursday that Backstrom had not yet been medically cleared.

ANI later quoted JDS MLA Shivarame Gowda saying that "some of Congress and JD (S) MLAs are going to Kochi and some to Hyderabad".

After a almost three-and-a-half-hour hearing beginning 2:11am, a three-judge apex court bench also made it clear that the swearing-in and the government formation would be subject to the final outcome of the case before it. Alleging further, they remarked that wherever such situations have arisen at times of a hung assembly, decisions have been made to suit the agenda of BJP.

With Singhvi arguing that the Constitution gives immunity to the governor only for discharge of duties, the bench asked whether he wanted the court to scrutinise discretion of the governor when it does not have the letter of support given by the BJP. Sources also say that Kudligi candidate Nagendra is the point man, who has been assigned the task of turning in the Congress MLAs.

Following Congress footstep, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav also chose to meet the Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik to stake claim to form the government in the state.

Interestingly in the high-stakes political drama that is now taking place in the state, Anand Singh did not show up to the legislative party meeting held in Bengaluru, triggering speculations that he may rejoin the BJP, reports the Indian Express. Indian television channels reported that Congress was planning to approach the Supreme Court late in the night to challenge the governor's decision.
