In a freakish story, a woman was arrested for driving kids around, not in booster seats or in the back seats, but in two pet kennels placed in the back of her vehicle.
She is now facing two charges of child endangerment. Temperatures in the area reached around 35°C.
A woman has been arrested after a video shared online showed two children getting out of pet kennels inside the trunk of an SUV. Neighbors are shocked. They say Leimome Cheeks is a very nice woman and they can't believe she did something like this.
A concerned citizen shot the video and forwarded it to the police.
There were no air conditioning vents in the back of the vehicle and the children told police they became hot. I only met her like once maybe twice.
Sebastian Vettel no longer felt like 'a passenger' in his Ferrari
The other ace up Red Bull's sleeve will be at the start when the hyper-soft compound should offer better traction off the line. Verstappen has failed to finish in two of the six races this season with a best result of third in Spain last month.
She allegedly told police that she would check on the children periodically and "later removed them from the kennel and put them in the rear seats of her vehicle", the affidavit read.
Skylarr Blake, who lives a few doors down from Cheeks, said he couldn't imagine her doing such a thing.
The local resident who captured the footage told WREG News he was glad he was able to catch Cheeks in the act and encourages others to do the same if they are faced with an unsavoury situation. "If she did that, then that's out of character for her", Eugene Richmond said.
Strangely enough, there is little information available on the relations between Cheeks and the children, aged 7 and 8-years-old.
Cheeks is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
