Tesla's Autopilot to get 'full self-driving feature'

Rocket-powered Tesla Roadster may fly, Elon Musk says

Musk tells fans 'full self driving' Teslas are near, as investigators dig into Autopilot accidents

What Musk means by "full self-driving features", though, is another question.

Michael Sanchez, who has worked at Tesla since 2012 and is now on medical leave, said he was asked to leave by security guards and a supervisor while handing out leaflets to colleagues outside a Tesla facility in February 2017.

The Tesla Model X passenger vehicle was being driven with the company's "Autopilot" features enabled when it crashed into the attenuator - also known as a "crash cushion" - on March 23 this year.

There aren't any technical specs for what the compressed air thrusters might add to the Roadster, but the standard version of the vehicle, which is expected to be delivered in 2020, already boasts a speedy 0-60 time of 1.9 seconds and a 620-mile range. A spate of recent crashes has brought the system under regulatory scrutiny. The Tesla product architect revealed that version 9 of Autopilot will aim to fix that issue.

The rocket boosters take the form of a "sophisticated bottle" that fires bursts of high-pressure air out the back of the sports auto, the electric-transport news site adds.

According to the NTSB report, the driver did not put his hands on the steering wheel of the vehicle for six seconds prior to the crash, despite having had his hand on the wheel for 34 seconds of the preceding minute.

For Mr Trump, he's likely to credit any success in these talks to his "maximum pressure campaign". Bringing U.S. troops home from North Korea was "not a part of the equation right now", Mr.

Meanwhile, the NTSB in a preliminary finding into the crash in Mountain View. During that time, the system provided two visual and one auditory alert for the driver to put his hands back on the steering wheel, the agency said.

Tesla has not confirmed nor denied the news, says Fortune, as the company does not comment on Musk's claims, as part of its "general policy".

Tesla's shares were last up 3.3 per cent at $327.93 on Monday after touching a high of $333. Elon Musk has tweeted about the possibility of rocket thrusters for extra boost for the Roadster and knowing what he is capable of, it might turn out to be a reality.

Musk tweeted that these small rocket engines would "dramatically improve acceleration, top speed, braking & cornering". Tesla representatives said they are investigating the incident.

Musk also stated that the Model Y could overtake the Model 3 in terms of sales, owing to the popularity that SUVs enjoy in worldwide markets.
