Resident Evil 2 Remake Revealed, January 2019 Release Date Confirmed

Resident Evil 2 is getting a remake, and it's out in less than 7 months

In a press release, Capcom states that "the Raccoon City outbreak will live again when Resident Evil 2 arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25th, 2019!"

At the start of the Resident Evil 2 remake trailer shown during Sony's E3 press conference, we see things from the perspective of a mouse. For those of you who do not understand, there are no bathrooms in most of the Resident Evil games till Resident Evil 4. However, it's possible that the system has been tweaked in some way to accommodate for improvements or even just the highly cinematic nature of the original Resident Evil 2 camera system. At the time, Resident Evil 2 was a phenom, becoming one of the biggest video game sellers in 1998 and was the best-selling game on Sony's first console.

Playing as Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy, Capcom is swapping out the original fixed camera viewpoints for an over-the-shoulder view.

The individual - our hero? - appears to be deaf; hence the "Quiet Man" name and the use of the tagline "silence rings loudest". Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World are joining up to make two groups of nerds incredibly happy.

As you can see, the game features revitalized visuals utilizing Resident Evil 7's engine, while at the same time staying true to the spirit of the original game.

A spine-chilling reimagining of a horror classic - Based on the original PlayStation console release in 1998, the new game has been completely rebuilt from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Capcom has also modernized the controls, which should make it considerably easier to play than the original title. WithCapcom's proprietary RE Engine powering a new photorealistic style, the characters themselves appear sharper than ever and the grotesque hordes of zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect. They also revealed new details on how zombies will now actively be affected when damaged alone with more details on this reimagined version of Raccoon City.
