Amazon brings Prime discounts at Whole Foods to 10 more states

Amazon’s new Whole Foods discounts now available in 10 more states, including Washington

Prime Members get the savings by using the Whole Foods app on their smartphone and linking it with their Amazon account.

Amazon said the savings are also available to customers having their groceries delivered from Whole Foods via Prime Now. The service began in February in Austin, Dallas, Cincinnati and Virginia Beach, Va. Amazon has owned Austin-based Whole Foods since August 2017. Some of the discounts provided in the offer include 10% off various sale items, and discounts on food products such as Annie's Macaroni & Cheese and Essentia Water bottles.

Whole Foods is expanding its Prime-exclusive discounts to Alabama and nine other states, the grocery chain announced today. Items eligible for additional Prime member discounts will be designated by special signs in Whole Foods stores.

Customers can enter their zip code on the Prime Now website or app to see if they are in the delivery area.

Plans call for the Prime savings to roll out to all 464 Whole Foods stores in the United States this summer.

Echo devices sold near the checkout registers have been acting as a constant reminder of the new parent company, but there have also been clear benefits, mostly in the form of discounts for Amazon Prime members.

Two-hour delivery is free and one-hour delivery is $7.99 on orders $35 or more. The discount applies only to Prime members.
