Prince Louis will be baptised at the same place as his older brother George.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially announced the date for Prince Louis' Christening.

Kate Middleton and Prince William's third child will be christened next month, Kensington Palace announced in a statement.

It will take place at The Chapel Royal, St James's Palace, London - the same place Prince George was also christened.

And the christening itself is quite the family tradition, Royal Central U.K. notes, adding Prince Louis will also wear a replica of the now-famous Honiton lace christening gown. The christening gown has been passed down to each generation and worn by 62 royal babies.

The Queen is head of the Church of England and Louis' father William will one day take on this role when he becomes king.

George's christening at the same venue in October 2013 was an intimate occasion, with only 23 guests attending.

On the maternal side, Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton, her younger brother James and her younger sister Pippa, who is pregnant with her first child, will be present.

It's been a big year for Welby, who also presided over the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last month.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told the Express: 'As with George and Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis'.

This will be the first time that the public get to see the new Prince in real time since his birth.
