Everyone knows that Arsenal are in a transitional phase.

I feel very good. The new man has already set about making his mark on the team.

Sokratis joins the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £18million.

The deal was confirmed by the Premier League side on Monday afternoon, with an undisclosed fee (but believed to be in the region of £17.5m) having been agreed between the clubs in June.

The friends Wright is referring to in his tweet are Sokratis' former Dortmund teammates Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The new Head of Recruitment has been fishing in familiar territory as he was the chief scout at Dortmund.

He was then asked if it would be odd to be playing with the pair at a different club, with all three joining Dortmund at the same time in 2013.

Belgium come from two down to beat Japan in thriller
Belgium will have a refreshed side to choose from as they face Japan in the World Cup round of 16 in Rostov on Monday night. Belgium and Japan have met each other in the group stages of 2002 World Cup with the match ending 2-2.

Papastathopoulos, 30, had spells with AC Milan, Genoa and Werder Bremen before joining Dortmund in 2013, and he has racked up almost 200 appearances for the Bundesliga giants. The centre-back has also represented his nation 79 times.

Papastathopoulos will add experience to the Arsenal back line, along with another fellow newcomer, 34-year-old Stephan Lichtsteiner.

'It's a handsome moment and I'm very happy that I will be here for the next years, ' said the defender. It has a lot of fans and a very big history'.

With Greece failing to qualify for the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup, Sokratis is expected to be with the squad from day one of pre-season and be fit in time for the start of the Premier League in August.
