"There's a guy that I've known for a long time, he's a wrestler, he's an All-American, he's a former UFC champion, I never thought I would fight him but Brock Lesnar, get your ass in here", Cormier said as the crowd erupted.
Daniel Cormier shocked the mixed martial arts world tonight in Las Vegas by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the very first-round to claim the UFC's coveted heavyweight title. He is now the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, becoming just the second fighter in the promotion's history to hold two belts simultaneously.
Cormier called out Lesnar following his big win, when Lesnar came in to crash the party. Jeremy Botter was first to report that Lesnar would challenge the victor of Saturday's heavyweight title fight at UFC 230 in November at Madison Square Garden.
After the bout, WWE superstar Brock Lesnar entered the Octagon and traded words with Cormier in a vulgar (and ridiculous) display. "Joe, this is the most fantastic thing I've ever experienced", Cormier said after the fight.
Two Contenders Remain as Trump Mulls Supreme Court Pick
He served with the president's sister on the Third Circuit, and she apparently recommended Hardiman for the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh played a key role in drafting the Starr report, which urged the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.
Lesnar obliged, storming the Octagon and immediately shoving Cormier, before they were separated. "I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning", he said. Miocic is a piece of s**t!
And the OH firefighter brushed off Cormier's suggestion that there was no way Miocic could win a decision.
It just seems as though the UFC can't catch a break these days. Cormier took the microphone and emphatically told Lesnar, "Shove me now, and go to sleep later", making quite the early prediction for their reported showdown at UFC 230 in NY. That win was eventually overturned after Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene. White had previously said Lesnar would be returning to the company later this year.
Where this leaves WWE is anyone's guess, though the company obviously needs to get their Universal Title off of him (which has actually been the case for months given Lesnar's lack of a presence on WWE television).
Re-entering the drug testing pool is critical due to the test failure Lesnar had back in the summer of 2016 following his last UFC fight. Botter reports that Lesnar has been in the USADA testing pool and is now hidden from public viewing in the database.
