Today, we are excited to introduce Smart Downloads.
If you'd rather keep shows stored in your phone to watch again and again, though, you can switch off smart downloads in settings anytime.
According to a Netflix spokesperson, "this feature only operates on WiFi and can easily be toggled on and off depending on your preference".
Smart Downloads is initially available on Android phones and tablets.
Pres. Trump announces pick for Supreme Court nominee
In the case decided Monday that had to do with attorneys' fees, there would be no majority if Kavanaugh were to withdraw. Democratic senators running for re-election in states Trump carried in 2016 will face pressure to back his nominee.
A download status bar will appear on the screen when a new episode is downloading, and users will be notified when the download is complete. The feature will be available for Android devices starting today. He went on to explain that you can still download movies and TV shows over mobile data, but this would need to be done manually by the user. We assume it will delete the final few episodes from your device and then simply not download anything after, but you'll have to test it out to see if that's true.
The move is the latest evolution of Netflix's mobile experience, which has grown in importance since its first app launch in 2010. Episodes you've finished watching will be deleted too, so you don't have to worry about managing your storage either.
Use the toggle to turn off the feature. Smart Downloads also works across seasons.
Netflix says the feature is mostly aimed at public transit commuters who may have limited or poor network coverage during their journey.
