A US Secret Service agent has died after suffering a stroke during US President Donald Trump's visit to his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland. He stayed at his Turnberry golf resort in between a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels and a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

They arrived at the resort on Friday July 13 and spent two nights there, with Mr Trump playing two rounds of golf over the weekend before leaving on Sunday afternoon.

He said: "We have really important economic, security and cultural links with the United States and should respectfully welcome their duly-elected head of state".

Mr Trump appeared non-fussed as he drove his buggy from hole to hole sporting a US baseball cap, as other protests took place in Glasgow and outside the Scottish parliament building in Edinburgh, which featured the infamous giant baby blimp that debuted in London last week.

A 55-year-old man was charged in connection with an incident where a paraglider with a protest sign flew over Turnberry on Friday, while a 64-year-old man was arrested in relation to alleged threatening and abusive behaviour on the beach at Turnberry on Sunday and was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.

His body is being flown to Joint Base Andrews, MD, on Wednesday via U.S. Air Force military aircraft, The U.S. Secret Service said.

However, the SLC Turnberry's parent company, Golf Recreation Scotland, remains wholly owned by Trump through his Donald J Trump Revocable Trust, the Scotsman reported.

Eric Trump wrote on Twitter that Trump properties do not profit from US government business. Thus, Trump's official visit to Europe probably generated a buck to his business empire, the agency said. "We grieve with them and with his Secret Service colleagues, who have lost a friend and a brother".
