The popular messaging service says that, from today, its billions of users will be able to use a new group video call feature. One can now make a group call with up to four people in total - anytime and anywhere. Group voice and video calling is not a new feature, as other apps such as Google Hangouts have supported it for a long time.
WhatsApp has just confirmed that it's adding a radical new way to chat on the app. However, in the face of everything, the company is not slowing down when it comes to working on new features and gradually adding them to the platform. Click on "add participant" icon on the call screen to add participants.
It is now possible to simultaneously video chat with up to four friends on WhatsApp.
Mourinho in 'fear' ahead of Man Utd's start to the season
The Manchester United boss has been seething in recent weeks over the lack of players on their pre-season tour of the States. The thought of playing Real Madrid excites rather than scares him. "We've played against quality opponents".
WhatsApp has now finally launched the group calls for voice and video feature and it is already live. Tapping it does exactly what it should: it dismisses the notification and marks the message as read so it doesn't resurface when you open the app or get another notification.
"We believe that these changes - which we'll continue to evaluate - will help keep WhatsApp the way it was created to be: a private messaging app". WhatsApp says the feature has been created to work even over unreliable network connections, so you have no excuse not to stay in touch.
There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more details. More specifically, it was at this event that WhatsApp was officially going to get group calling sometime in the future. Share your views in the comments.
