Although manager Maurizio Sarri had encouraged fans to be patient as he looked to install his football philosophy - known as "Sarri-ball" - at Chelsea, the club made the ideal start.

But while he said he was very happy to take three points, Sarri said that he hopes to get his players more in tune with his ideas before global commitments and the Europa League begin to disrupt Chelsea's schedule.

Maurizio Sarri enjoyed a winning start to life as a manager in the English Premier League as Chelsea outclassed Huddersfield 3-0 on Saturday.

We did a pre-season... what can I say?

"There is a misunderstanding in the feeling that he wants to get a move for the wrong reasons, but certainly he was pushing to go out of Chelsea because of his child", Henrotay told BBC 5 Live's "Sportsweek" radio show.

"I have to respect the characteristics of the players, I have to adapt myself to the characteristics of the championship and of the players, so now I am studying my players". If you look at the result, you can think about an easy game.

Taliban launch attack on Afghan city, casualties
The city of about 140,000 people was in lockdown as residents stayed indoors and reported sporadic gunfire. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed parts of Ghazni had been seized and scores of people killed.

Former Napoli coach Sarri replaced Antonio Conte in a restless summer for the London club but any fears of an opening-day upset disappeared with goals from France global N'Golo Kante, summer signing Jorginho and Pedro.

He has been their best player in recent years and the team needs him now, more than ever with a new manager in charge.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner felt bad luck cost his side in the season-opener. "The first half was hard".

"We have to improve to defend in the other half, to press against three defenders. The best capacity was to suffer, but then I think the second half maybe they were exhausted".

"In the first half, we were in trouble for 15 minutes against a very physical team". I had a lot of time to take care of me a year ago, so now I'm 100 per cent. I saw our spirit, togetherness and good attitude today, which is what we will need to be competitive this season. If we are able to play at another speed, maybe scoring will not be a problem for us. But I think we did have a lot of unlucky situations. We hit the bar twice - once when we were 1-0 down after conceding a very unlucky goal from a deflection.
