She added that Kelly had been open about looking for a reason to fire her.
Quoting Trump's early, post-inauguration speech at the Central Intelligence Agency lamenting his inauguration crowd, Manigault Newman takes some editorial liberty, adding within quotation marks that Trump says, "Liars!"
"Apparently telling the truth wasn't paying her bills, so she chose to switch her story to try and make a quick buck and that I just can't abide by", Mr. Gidley said.
"The moment I said I would like to leave and they said I can't go, it became false imprisonment", she said.
"I was complicit and for that I regret", the former Apprentice contestant said.
Omarosa Manigault-Newman claimed to have been complicit with the Trump administration in deceiving America during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday morning. After Kelly let her go, she reportedly tried, unsuccessfully, to reach Trump directly to issue a personal appeal, setting off a secret-service alarm in the process.
The release of the audio comes one day after Manigault Newman shared a separate recording of what she says is the conversation in which Kelly informed her she was being fired.
Ms Newman, a former star of "The Apprentice" in the U.S., said that she now regretted her White House role.

And one source familiar with the negotiations said U.S Trade Representative Bob Lighthizer will not go easy when Canada joins the talks again.
"The president also said he realize it's "'not presidential'" to slam her on Twitter, but said Twitter is a modern form of communication, and he knows the media will do everything possible to make her look legitimate.
In her interview Sunday, Newman said she shared the audio of the meeting to "protect" herself from disparaging reports about her departure that she said were untrue.
Today, in response to her casting the president as a racist and mentally waning, he called her "a low-life". It appears to show Trump expressing surprise, saying "nobody even told me about it". White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has described it as "riddled with lies and false accusations" and accused the author of being "a disgruntled former White House employee trying to profit off these false attacks".
Privately, many are wondering how many tapes she might have - and whether they are heard speaking on them.
Omarosa was then transferred to a position at the Commerce Department, where one supervisor described her as "was unqualified and disruptive" in an interview with the Times.
'I'm asking you about the White House staff, ' Karl interjected. This has to do with some pretty serious integrity violations.
Newman said she would love for the White House to release her personnel files. And yet, here she has an opportunity to confront Trump in the immediate aftermath of her firing, and Omarosa sounds as if she wants to get Trump to get her job back for her.
Also, during the Meet the Press interview, Todd pressed her on her past defenses of Trump's racism and misogyny, including when she said in 2016 that her hiring was proof that Trump isn't racist.
The White House questioned her "character and integrity".
