A new report from Showbiz 411 suggests that the "Queen of Soul", Aretha Franklin, is "gravely ill" in her hometown of Detroit.

The Queen of Soul is now surrounded by friends and family and they're asking for prayers and privacy at this time. Her loved ones are asking for "prayers and privacy" during this hard time.

The singer was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, though she continued to perform as she dealt with her illness.

In 2011 star was forced to deny she had pancreatic cancer after reading a report in a newspaper.

She released her final album, A Brand New Me, in late 2017. Her mother died before her 10th birthday and not long after, Franklin started singing in her first solo shows. She followed up in April with a canceled scheduled appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
