Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was placed on paid administrative leave and is being investigated by an independent group to determine whether or not he knew about the allegations of abuse against Smith in 2015.

Meyer was placed on administrative leave August 1, shortly after a second report from McMurphy surfaced alleging that Meyer was aware of multiple alleged domestic violence incidents involving Smith.

Following receipt, the working group will share the report with the Board of Trustees in an executive session to be held next week.

"As required by law, public notice of the meeting will be released at least 24 hours in advance", the school said.

University president Michael Drake did not get into specifics when asked whether lying to the public could be considered a fireable offense.

Acting head coach Ryan Day met with the media for the first time during the Buckeyes' fall camp Friday, which began August 3. It looked like he was gone early, it doesn't look like he is now - and I say that just based on having watched college football and understanding the cynical nature of it.

Meyer was close with Zach Smith, a grandson of former Ohio State coach Earle Bruce, who gave Meyer his first job in college coaching.

Smith was sacked by Ohio State last month after a history of domestic violence allegations became public. Their only two losses came against Ohio State and Michigan State, which were both away games.

"You will be proud to know that our players and coaching staff have attacked each day and forged together as a team", Day wrote. He pleaded not guilty.

Brett McMurphy reports that Zach Smith had sex toys delivered to him at Ohio State and took a photo of his genitalia while at the White House. The Columbus Dispatch reported police responded to the couple's home for the 2015 incident, but no charges were filed.

McMurphy wrote that the time stamp on the April 20 White House visit photo "shows Smith in his black suit he wore to the White House event".

His attorney, Brad Koffel, told ESPN that his client plans to defend himself against allegations made by his ex-wife in court.

Paul Finebaum joined the Dan Patrick Show today and had a pragmatic answer to the question whether Urban Meyer is in the clear at Ohio State.
