Mercedes revealed on Tuesday how "aggressively" gunning for leading place in current battery autos marketplace presently dominated by Tesla, since it released the EQC, the primary utterly electric vehicle, at a conference in Stockholm.
Mercedes-Benz has corrected its initial range estimate for its electric EQC 400 crossover from 200 to 279 miles.
The dual motor electric motors generate 402 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque.
Powering the new electric SUV will be two motors placed on both the axles with an 80kWh lithium ion battery. EQ stands for Electric Intelligence, and will be applied to future electric models.
The firm is investing more than €10bn (£9bn) in the expansion of its electric range, and more than €1bn in battery production.
Mercedes can't flip that electrification switch fast enough.

Once a trip is completed, drivers will only be able to see the general area where a trip started and ended, without addresses. Drivers will also have access to a hands-free feature to pick up riders without touching their phones.
Now, German brands Porsche and Audi are scheduled to produce luxury electric cars, as is Britain's Jaguar. Diesel engines, dogged by the baggage of emissions violations and facing bans in many major cities, are no longer an option.

Mercedes-Benz described this as an "avant-garde electro-look" and called out how the dashboard and door trim are meant to remind you of a high-end amplifier. The EVs are part of 50 electrified vehicles planned by 2022.
"It's huge news for Mercedes-Benz, and a real signal in this space that we are about to have a lot of options when it comes to the electric category, luxury, and the sweet space with crossover vehicles", Warren said Wednesday in an interview on Cheddar.
Volvo is the latest automaker to roll out a self-driving concept.
"The EQC brings design, functionality and service together in a unique way".
At the front, large black-panel surface enclosing the headlamps and grille adds to the class. A similar design element is echoed in the rear.
Central to the in-cabin experience is Mercedes' new multimedia system.
On the inside, the EQC, as Mercedes says, features "avante-garde electro-look" with the MBUX user interface system.
