Musk told Rogan that he's not a regular weed smoker

Late on Thursday, Musk was filmed smoking marijuana and drinking whiskey in a 2-1/2-hour live Web show with comedian Joe Rogan that swiftly spread across Instagram and other social media.

CEO Elon Musk appeared on "The Joe Rogan Experience" overnight.

His departure comes at a time when Tesla is reeling from a series of incidents that have raised questions about the leadership of Mr. Musk, as the auto maker struggles to meet its production goals and continues to lose money and burn cash.

In a statement released Friday, Morton, who quit Tesla on September 4, said his departure was prompted by increased levels of public scrutiny surrounding the auto company. Recreational marijuana is legal in California.

The online incident follows turmoil at Tesla Inc. this week as the news that two senior executives have chose to leave the electric-car making company. "The company has problems, and it seems the board and investors need to start speaking up about how the company is being run".

Musk, seemingly referencing former president Bill Clinton, went to Twitter to say that to say, "remember, I did not inhale". "Before Tesla, Chris ran several ultra high volume factories at PepsiCo", Musk informed, adding that Laurie Shelby, Tesla's VP, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) will also report directly to him.

Tesla also lost Eric Branderiz, Morton's predecessor as chief accounting officer, in March. His firm, Gerber Kawasaki, owns about $10.5 million in Tesla stock.

Strengthening Hurricane Florence blasts toward U.S. East Coast
McMaster said he had asked President Donald Trump to declare a federal emergency in SC in anticipation of the storm's arrival. EDT, Florence was centered about 685 miles (1,100 kilometers) southeast of Bermuda, moving west at 7 mph (11 kmh).

This time, the executive departure is David Morton, chief accounting officer at Tesla Inc., who called it quits after just a month on the job.

The promotions follow what have been a tumultuous few weeks for Musk, an increasingly mercurial chief executive who got himself into some hot water last month with a proposal to take Tesla private. Shortly after his announcement, Bloomberg reported that Tesla's chief people officer, Gabrielle Toledano, would not return to the company after a leave of absence. "We believe Musk attempted to manipulate the price of Tesla securities with false and misleading tweets, in a directed effort to harm short-sellers". Before the podcast came to a close, Musk told Rogan that he had already received inquiries about the controversial toke.

"I can not answer questions about potential future products".

Chris Lister who joined Tesla a year ago and was key to solving production problems at the Gigafactory in Nevada and ramping Model 3 production has been promoted to Vice President, Gigafactory Operations.

"This caused me to reconsider my future", Morton said.

Morton had been on the job for about a month, starting one day before Musk announced on Twitter that he was considering taking the electric vehicle company private.

The two lawsuits were filed three days after Mr Musk announced on Twitter that planned to take Tesla private in a record $72bn (£56bn) transaction.
