Devin Booker out indefinitely for Phoenix



The New Zealand Breakers look set to be denied the chance to test themselves against one of the NBA's best shooters in their October 3 pre-season matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

The surgery will be done in Los Angeles and Booker is expected to miss the beginning of training camp.

The Phoenix Suns will return to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona for training camp from september 25-28. The Suns went 3-7 in a three week stretch without Booker in December of past year while going 2-10 the down the final stretch.

Phoenix Suns' star Devin Booker will reportedly undergo surgery on an injured ligament in his hand today, according to a report by Arizona Sports 98.7's John Gambadoro on Sunday.

Booker missed the remaining 12 games down the stretch for the Suns as he was bothered the right-hand injury throughout the closing months of last season.

In the 2017-18 season, the third of his career, Booker averaged 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 2.7 three-pointers per game on 43.2 percent shooting from the field and 38.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Booker recently agreed to a five-year max contract extension worth $158 million with Phoenix.

Phoenix opens the regular season on October 17 at home against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Suns drafted him with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
