Misdemeanor herself praised her "funky white sister" for putting her thang down, flipping and reversing it.
In August, a woman by the name of Mary Halsey went viral for her excellent karaoke performance of Missy Elliott's song "Work It". She united the duo for a performance of the Under Construction track, which will air on her daily talk show today (Thursday, Sept. 13).
In the interview the woman who is known as "funky white sister" on social media said: "It was a shock".
"I learned, and I read the words, and I studied it, and the reaction that I got was so positive that it became my go-to song", she explained to DeGeneres. While Mary was bringing down the house mid-song, Missy sneakily crept behind her and sang along.

It later shed some of those gains but was still up 3.0 per cent in value at 6.14 to the dollar. The bank is expected to raise interest rates on September 13.
"First I want to thank Ellen for just being wonderful she will always be blessed because of her HUGE Heart!,' Missy said on Instagram following the show". Halsey said she's been singing the song for 15 years, and calling herself Elliott's "funky white sister" for the same amount of time.
Sitting down for a chat, an overwhelmed Mary admitted: 'I can hardly just sit here, you've blown me away. "So when I listen, I'm like, she knows all the words, but the sound effects-she made the elephant noise, all of that".
Missy surprised Halsey with a signed custom T-shirt, while Ellen gave her a jacket inscribed with "Missy's Funky White Sister" on the back.
"Instead of it just being an empty time, I chose to fill it in". And I'm thankful Ellen connected us because Mary you are a gem!
