British media said it was unheard of for family members to be involved in official royal engagements, saying Ragland, who had not been seen in public with her daughter since the wedding, had told guests on her arrival: "Hi, I'm Meg's mom".
"I'd just recently moved to London and I felt so immediately embraced by the women in the kitchen by your warmth and your kindness".
It remains to be seen, however, whether the American duchess was forced to spell "endeavour" with the British "ou", or whether she did it out of her own volition.
Meghan gave a heartfelt speech in which she said she felt "privileged" to know the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen.
Along with Prince Harry, the duo stepped out on Thursday (Sept. 20) to celebrate Together: Our Community Cookbook, a lovely book that Meghan worked on with women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire - and for which she penned the foreword.
Meghan has invited the women behind the Together cookbook - which was published this week with a foreword by the Duchess - to an outdoor reception in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

Robbie Keane was speaking at an event to celebrate Paddy Power's 30th birthday. I have never seen him as fit as he is in the moment. One of them a yard less tonight and it's game over.
The duchess looked stylish in a top by Tuxe, skirt by Misha Nonoo and coat by Smythe.
Guests sat down to the home-made dishes from the new cookbook including coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala and a range of chapatis and sharing dips, as well as caramelised plum upside-down cake, and spiced mint tea.
The cookbook includes over 50 recipes from the Hubb chefs.
Serena Williams, who has been friends with the former actress for years, praised Meghan's first solo project as a royal in a sweet Instagram post on Monday. All proceeds from the book will benefit the kitchen. "I could not be more excited about it and proud of you".
She said the project had been a "tremendous labour of love".
"The power of food is more than just the meal itself, it is the story behind it".
"We cook the recipes we've grown up with; there's no stress, and the recipes always work because they have been made so many times - it's proper comfort food".
