Compatriot Justin Thomas, who will play alongside Woods for Team USA at this week's Ryder Cup, shared a snap of the buzz on the final green and said "golf couldn't be in a better place".

Bjørn was, however, full of praise for Woods's latest and 80th PGA Tour triumph achieved after four back surgeries.

The 14-times major champion ended a five-year drought with an emotional victory at East Lake in Atlanta.

"He won yesterday as an individual and I know how much that means to him but he's flipped that page pretty quickly and is really excited to join his team mates and move forward in that process".

Current captain Thomas Bjorn, who had some memorable battles with Woods as a player, also welcomed his return.

Others said they had never witnessed a scene like it in all their years watching golf.

With CAATSA out of the bag China claws at United States for sanctions
Further, China has also invalidated trade talks, which were scheduled for the current week in Washington. China has "strongly urged" the USA to cancel the sanctions or "bear the consequences".

The Tiger boost manifested itself earlier in the year during majors in which he was in contention. Today, we've gotten a big reminder.

Furyk's players are well aware that the Americans have not won a Ryder Cup on European soil since 1993. I said, yeah, I just didn't have the tight trousers and the hair.

Despite being up against the National Football League, the season-ending event broadcast on NBC that saw Woods win his first PGA Tour event in more than five years drew a 5.21 overnight rating when Woods was on the course. "They are well aware of it and they are well aware of how hard it is to win in Europe".

Six of the European team also played in Atlanta, but captain Bjorn is not anxious about fatigue.

"I said, "Hey, I could still play this thing out of bounds" so suck it up and hit some shots here".

"Achieving big things obviously takes a little bit out of you, but they will carry themselves through the week and this is what they have been looking forward to probably the most all season, so not anxious".
