Each of the Green Bay Packers top three receivers missed practice Thursday, leaving the Pack dangerously thin at the position heading into Sunday's divisional showdown at Detroit.

Of the Packers' 103 completed passes for 1,185 yards and seven touchdowns, 64 catches, 768 yards and six touchdowns have been made by Adams, Allison and Cobb. The No. 1 receiver left Wednesday's practice with a calf injury. After hurting his left knee in the opener, Rodgers practiced only on Saturdays in Weeks 2 and 3 but did not miss a game.

Valdes-Scantling showcased his big-play ability in college, and over his final two seasons averaged 18.9 and 16.6 yards per reception while scoring 11 touchdowns.

Following a 22-0 victory over Buffalo last week, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers called the offense "terrible" and was critical of the plan spearheaded by coach Mike McCarthy.

Already playing without three defensive backs due to injury, Green Bay was forced to finish the game with recently promoted practice-squad cornerback Tony Brown outside opposite of Williams. LeGarrette Blount, who continues to split work with impressive rookie Kerryon Johnson, scored his first two touchdowns with the Lions, both on goal-line plunges. "That's all part of your game plan". But as Aaron Rodgers has always said, the physical mistakes don't bother him almost as much as the mental ones. "I think that's something we had to do over time".

Slower Than Expected Job Growth in September
Wall Street closed down sharply following the news, extending losses from Thursday's selloff due to a sudden jump in bond yields. But wage increases so far have been modest, something that puzzles economists but allows the Fed to move gradually.

-Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook did not practice because of a hamstring injury, and head coach Mike Zimmer expects to list Cook as questionable on Friday's injury report. "They haven't had much of an opportunity early in the season", Cobb said.

Jones nearly single-handedly powered a scoring opportunity in the first half and continues to look like a game-changing player, but he only received eight total touches, including one catch. I think they're progressing, but it's easy to say that in practice. I've got to play better in the first half. "When you get in games, it's a different situation".

Given the outlook at receiver, Rodgers might have to direct the passing game elsewhere. Valdes-Scantling (two grabs for 41 yards) is the only other wideout on the roster with a reception, and tight end Jimmy Graham (one) is the only other player with a receiving touchdown.

There is some concern over the matchup, as the Lions have allowed just 29 receptions for 420 yards and three scores to opposing wideouts.
