Selena Gomez was hospitalized twice in the last 2 weeks. and the second time she suffered what sources called an emotional breakdown. she's now at a mental health facility for treatment.

Sources told TMZ a family member took Gomez to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, and though the Wolves singer was released a few days later, she was readmitted late last week because her low blood cell count hadn't changed and it had sent Gomez into a downward emotional spiral.

Currently, Gomez is on the East Coast and receiving dialectical behavior therapy - also known as DBT.

Prior to leaving social media, Gomez revealed in a live Instagram session that she had felt consumed by her depression for five years.

She then "freaked out" and had "a meltdown", tearing the IV lines out of her arm.

"She's had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point", the source claims. It is believed Gomez's condition was brought on by ongoing problems with her physical health.

Fans of the star took to social media on Thursday to show their support and pray for her.

'As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given, ' she wrote.

Soon after this news broke, Selena's fans started sending out wishes for her speedy recovery. Just remember - negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings.

Gomez was previously been admitted to a psychiatric facility in 2016, having experienced "depression, anxiety and panic" as a side effect of her lupus.
