Previous year they were the only company on the market catering specifically for gamers, but now with the ROG phone and Honor trying to claim the Play as a gaming phone, competition is heating up, so can Razer see commercial success with their second phone?

American company Razer known popularly for its gaming devices has launched the Razer Phone 2. It will be available in Classy Mirror back finish and will be available for pre-order starting 12.01AM PST on October 11 in the United States region. and is not likely to come to India.

The updated device keeps the 120-Hz refresh rate and 120-Hz touch sampling that made waves on the first Razer Phone, and that display now gets pixels courtesy of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

The screen retained the variable refresh rate to 120 Hz, which eliminates stuttering and tearing. The display also supports HDR and DCI-P3 wide color gamut to allow for the excellent viewing experience, which no doubt is a prime requisite for a multimedia phone. The Razer Phone 2 does not have a headphone jack but sports dual stereo speakers. It comes with four remappable multi-function buttons, Razer Mecha-Tactile action buttons, a hair trigger mode and an adjustable phone mount.The Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC is an in-ear headset that draws power for its Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology through the USB-C port on your Razer Phone 2. The phone has 8 GB RAM with 64GB storage and you can expand storage up to 2TB. Also, Razer Phone 2 boasts 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo. It features a 12MP wide-angle lens with OIS and an f/1.75 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture on the back. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera. The phone is also capable of QuickCharge 4+ through a Type-C cable while also retaining its impressive 4000 mAh battery. Keeping it cool is the Vapor Chamber cooling system, which makes sure that the processor never throttles even under heavy workloads.

Thanks to that glass rear the Razer Phone 2 is also Qi wireless charging compatible, although you'll need to buy a charging mat separately (or the light-up Razer dock).

The new display is also 50% brighter than in the first Razer Phone.

To help users manage their games, the company introduced the Razer Cortex app. CNET received an invite to the October 10 event back in September and while there isn't a specific mention of the follow-up to the original Razer Phone, the outline drawn on the invitation looks exactly like a phone.

On top of this swanky new phone, Razer has also revealed two new accessories to go with it: a controller and headset. The Chroma software allows users to synchronize the Razer Logo on the back to match the colors on your screen.

The Razer Phone 2 will support Verizon in the U.S. A tempered glass screen protector is for $20.
