Rihanna declined Super Bowl LIII halftime show in support of Kaepernick

As it turns out, either Rihanna or Pink could have been the headliners at next year's Super Bowl Halftime show, but things simply didn't work out. Previously, the Bronx Bomber said she would NOT do the Super Bowl.

Kaepernick made national headlines back in the beginning of the 2016 NFL season when he made the decision to kneel for the National Anthem in an effort to protest social injustices and police brutality in the U.S. She does not agree with the NFL's stance, ' one source tells the outlet. Jay-Z reportedly turned down the Super Bowl halftime show and it was rumored to be in support of Kaepernick, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"Entertainment Tonight" went even further, with a source telling it that Rihanna was "the front-runner" to perform and that a high-profile Super Bowl appearance would have synced up well with her plans for a new album (two new albums?) and a tour.
