BEREA, Ohio - Nick Chubb's time in Cleveland has arrived. The fans don't understand why Carlos Hyde got the bulk of the carries. Hyde is a Jacksonville Jaguar after Friday's surprising trade. So will Duke Johnson.'s; the Browns' best playmaker from a year ago had been lost in a trio of backs that proved to be one too many.
Ever since rookie running back Nick Chubb ripped off two big runs against the Oakland Raiders, Jackson has constantly lobbied for him to get more carries. It would be fine if it had only been one game ago, and the Browns didn't really have a chance to fully bring Chubb into the fold.
Hyde signed a three-year, $15.25 million deal with the Browns this offseason and struggled to produce despite garnering 15-plus carries in five of his six games, and 20-plus in three of the six. He also turned a negative play against the Los Angeles Chargers into a gain by avoiding tackles for a loss and using his quick feet and elusiveness to run for 19 yards. Before playing for the Browns, Hyde played 4 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
Chill Out - Maine Could Have A Milder-Than-Average Winter
The NOAA prediction has contradicted the Farmer's Almanac prediction, which said the winter will be harsh this season. The Farmer's Almanac said that for its winter outlook, the temperatures are going to be cold with "plenty of snow".
Hyde still dominated the carries; Chubb had only 16. That is to say, the Browns are going to play who Dorsey wants them to play, or he isn't going to give them a choice.
If Hyde can come in and make an impact right away, he could help get the Jaguars back on the right path to the playoffs. He will get plenty of opportunities. He never rushed for 1,000 yards in a season due in part to injuries derailing multiple campaigns.
