Looking the same as the existing model but in black, the Mac Mini is the easy way to get Mac functionality without needing a built-in desktop model, such as the iMac. Apple announces every Mac Mini now comes with four cores, with six-core processors also an option with 60 percent faster graphics and up to five times faster overall. It comes with quad- and 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 4.6GHz and Intel UHD graphics. The Mac Mini will also support up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB SSD storage. It comes with Gigabit or 10 Gb Ethernet, four Thunderbolt 3 ports, HDMI, two USB-A ports, and audio out.
Apple held its "There's more in the making" event earlier today in NY, and it launched quite a few interesting pieces of kit for those who appreciate its design and technology.
Like the new MacBook Air, it launches on November 7. "All of this power is packed into the same size enclosure as before, flawless for customers updating or creating all-new installations where Mac mini is the ideal solution".
At the moment we only know that the price of the entry-level Mac mini 2018 will be $799 / £799 (around AU$1,120).

There have been growing rumours that Apple will also launch an updated version of the Apple Pencil, aka the Apple Pencil 2. Apple , the world's most valuable technology company, announced to host the new product unveiling event later this month.
To keep data safe, Apple has made use of its T2 chip with secure enclave, which ensures that software loaded at the boot stage of the new Mini hasn't been tampered with.
Apple describes the new Mac mini as "an absolute beast on the inside".
At Apple's event in New York City, the company took the wraps off a revamped Mac Mini, replacing its underpowered parts with new, 8th generation Intel quad- and 6-core processors options, up to 64GB of memory, up to a 2TB SSD, a T2 security chip, 10GB ethernet, and four Thunderbolt 3 ports.
