Texas Newlyweds Die in Helicopter Crash Just Hours After Their Wedding

A newly-married husband and wife died in a helicopter crash just 90 minutes after tying the knot.

Byler's grandfather, William Byler, told the TV station that the couple died when a helicopter that had departed the wedding reception in crashed.

Family friend Eric Smith announced the news in a Facebook post Sunday, writing: 'I'm absolutely devastated!

Fox News reports that Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman had a fairytale wedding on a family ranch.

The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The Uvalde County Sheriff's Office said police received a call about a possible downed aircraft at around midnight in the area of northwest Uvalde county.

The brothers said they have relied primarily on news reports to piece together an understanding of their father's death. That everybody is seeking for information just as we do.

Early reports indicated the pilot also was killed.

The newspaper reported that the Bylers were both in their senior year at the university.

According to the couple's wedding website, they were to be married Saturday in Uvalde, where the Byler family ranch is located. Their engagement photos show a giddy couple, with Will in a cowboy hat and Bailee showing off her ring.

The DPS and the Federal Aviation Administration were investigating.

"(Bailee) was full of life, beautiful, and could light up a room with her smile", Ellis said in an email.

Elliss said Ackerman was set to graduate in December and Will in May. The mangled helicopter was found upon daybreak. "They will be greatly missed by many".
