'Walking Dead' TV movies are in the works

The Walking Dead season 9 spoilers Secrets behind Negan and Rick Grimes's chat REVEALED

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has some kind words of comfort for The Walking Dead fans

Showrunner Scott Gimple stated on last night's Talking Dead that last night's episode of The Walking Dead season nine will be the last time Rick Grimes appears in the TV version of The Walking Dead.

Though Andrew Lincoln told San Diego Comic-Con this summer that his "relationship with Mr. Rick Grimes is far from over", The Walking Dead star is set to leave on November 4 the AMC series he has been on since the beginning - but not without a "thank you" and praise from cast mates present and past. The former Deputy Sheriff, who has been the heart and soul of this series over the past eight-and-a-half seasons is departing, and AMC have made sure to cash in on that fact.

The British star has played police officer-turned-survivor Rick Grimes in the post-apocalyptic United States series since its inception in 2010.

In a shocking movie, AMC confirmed the actor will continue playing the character for three feature-length, big-budget movies that will air on the network. When The Walking Dead returns next week, seven years into the future, Maggie Rhee will no longer be on the show (or running The Hilltop).

Genoa, the only team to have taken points off Juventus this season, remained 11th but only four points off fourth spot. Ander Herrera had been particularly influential after being introduced as a substitute for the second half.

IYCMI, Rick didn't die on Lincoln's last episode - though everyone thought he did after he blew up the bridge. It's that simple. But I miss it terribly and I miss the relationships and I miss the people. This feels a little late in the game to be expanding, but I'll let you folks that actually watch let me know what you think about this news in the comments.

It was revealed in episode five - which was shown in the U.S. on Sunday and airs in the United Kingdom on Monday - Rick does survive.

As part of Gimple's multi-year plan for The Walking Dead Universe, there are other projects now in development, including additional films, specials, series, digital content and more. There were story ideas brewing that, as the years went on, seemed very compatible with continuing to tell the Rick story in another format that would allow him time with his family. And I've always been interested in what's going on out there, you know, whether or not there is contact with the wider world. "We're going to introduce new characters and new situations". "I want to know why we keep seeing helicopters flying around".
