Singer Ariana Grande and "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson shocked fans when they reportedly broke off their engagement over the weekend, but those close to the power couple knew a split was imminent. The "God Is A Woman" hitmaker, 25, performed her breakup anthem, "Thank U, Next" for the first time on the November 7 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Ariana Grande was in lovely voice if not necessarily graceful presence during her world premiere performance of "Thank U, Next" on "Ellen" Wednesday morning.
The ladies danced around to the tune on the stage, which was set up to look like a wedding reception.
Ariana's dance routine was a tribute to the classic Hollywood film "First Wives Club", however Ari's chair stunt saw her stumble and nearly fall to the ground, as you can see in the video above.
Take back your shoes for $5 million, Priyanka's cousin to Nick
Parineeti, who joined Priyanka on her bachelorette in Amsterdam, posted an Instagram image from a party. Importantly, Priyanka and Nick are reportedly set to get married on December 2.
The moment gave her a slight case of the giggles as she went into the next verse, but she powered through. She even took the time to learn some rather tight choreography - which is what caused the near-disaster - with her backing singers.
"One day I'll walk down the aisle". "I'll be thanking my dad".
"This one gon" last / "Cause her name is Ari / And I'm so good with that", she sang without missing a note, adding a self-deprecating chuckle.
"Ariana Grande is a star on her own terms, never bending to any particular musical trend or path in the industry", says Ross Scarano, Billboard's vp of content. The trio eventually made their way through the audience before exiting from the back. Sometimes things just don't work out and that's okay. Oh my bad, I thought we were supposed to exit at the top.
