Dead brothel owner wins in midterm election

Brothel owner Dennis Hof posthumously wins Nevada assembly seat

Dennis Hof died Oct. 16

Late brothel owner (and reality TV star) Dennis Hof won the Nevada state legislative race he was running for as a Republican prior to his passing last month.

Pimp Dennis Hof beat Democratic educator Lesia Romanov for Nevada's 36th Assembly District, which includes rural communities and large stretches of desert in the southern part of the state.

As a result of this surprising outcome, county officials have said they would appoint a replacement candidate from the same party for his seat.

A representative for Romanov did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hof, who presented himself as an American pimp, was a strip-club owner who ran multiple brothels.

Hof, the self-described "Trump of Pahrump", was accused of rape and sexual assault by two of his former employees, according to the Review-Journal, citing a police report and interviews with the women. "People will set aside for a moment their moral beliefs, their religious beliefs, to get somebody that is honest in office".

In a freaky and unusual set of circumstance, a Republican candidate has been elected to the state assembly of Nevada - despite having died last month.

However, a spokesperson for Etihad has claimed the airline was the real source of the money it paid to City . The Guardian has not seen or been able to verify the documents Der Spiegel has used in its reporting.

"There are a lot of Republicans who were uncomfortable voting for Dennis because of the nature of his business, and they now know that he is not the one who will be serving", the campaign manager, Chuck Muth, told Reuters.

"So pardon me, but I'm celebrating".

He was believed to have died in his sleep.

"No cause of death has been determined".

Even though he had died, the state officials confirmed that his name would still appear on the ballot, and it looks like his plight - as well as the inadequacy of other candidates, it would seem - really spoke to the living public of the state of Nevada.

The former brothel owner, who described himself as the "Trump of Pahrump" (a town in Nevada), was expected to win in the general election after upsetting incumbent Assemblyman James Oscarson.
