Bryant is joining a flawless situation for him to get his career back on track.

Dez Bryant reportedly will sign with the New Orleans Saints - thanks to the New England Patriots? Bryant's salary was not immediately known.

However, after it was announced Bryant would be signing with the Saints, an old tweet where he put a fan on blast for being a Saints fan resurfaced.

The Saints, sitting at 7-1 atop the NFC South, will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 10.

The Saints also have yet to receive consistent production from Cameron Meredith, a former Chicago receiving leader who was acquired in free agency, but who also is trying to come back from major knee surgery that wiped out his 2017 season.

Bryant was among several receivers to work out for the Saints on Tuesday. And they acquired cornerback Eli Apple from the Giants before the trade deadline by giving up their fourth- and seventh-round picks. At the same time, New Orleans is without deep threat Ted Ginn Jr., who is now on injured reserve and won't be eligible to return until the final few weeks of the season, if he's ready by then.

Bryant will nearly certainly take over the No. 2 job from rookie third-round pick Tre'Quan Smith, who's totaled 12 catches for 214 yards and three touchdowns this season. Last season, Bryant caught 69 passes, including six touchdowns, for a grand total of 838 yards and was tied for third in the league in dropped passes. And the Cowboys were ultimately ready to move on from what executive vice president Stephen Jones described as a "fiery" personality that could sometimes be a "distraction".

When asked where Bryant might fit best a few months ago, Cowboys' quarterback Dak Prescott called it. The three-time Pro Bowl selection already showed signs of regression before being released by the Dallas Cowboys in April and the Saints' offense has been firing on all cylinders even without him.

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott said Wednesday that it will be "exciting" to play against Bryant.

"They're getting a great receiver".
