This just in: According to Inquirer.net, Imelda Marcos "has been found guilty of seven counts of graft by the Sandinganbayan's Fifth Division". She can also file an application for bail.

On the other hand, Marcos was acquitted in three of her other graft charges involving local corporations due to the insufficiency of evidence against her.

Imelda Marcos guilty in seven graft cases and sentenced her up to 11 years in prison for each case.

The conviction also perpetually disqualified her from holding public office, meaning she will have to step down from her current position in the House of Representatives, where she is serving a third term.

She was given 30 days by the anti-graft court to explain her absence during the promulgation.

The arrest warrant may not be executed immediately because Marcos can appeal the ruling by the Sandiganbayan court, a prosecutor said.

Imelda Marcos, 89, was the wife of late president Ferdinand Marcos, and famous for owning 1,000 pairs of shoes. He added that she is still free to run as Ilocos Norte Governor in 2019, as long as she posts a cash bond before the Sandiganbayan while appealing the decision.

Duterte has acknowledged that Imee Marcos, the couple's daughter and a provincial governor, backed his presidential candidacy.
