Xiaomi officially enters the UK with the Mi 8 Pro

The Mi 8 Pro sports a 6.21-inch AMOLED display, transparent glass back cover, an AI-powerful dual camera set-up and infra-red facial recognition technology, and bears a close resemblance to Apple's iPhone X thanks to the "notch" at the top of its display.

Other core specs are pretty standard for a modern flagship, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The rear glass panel is clear and Xiaomi claims it allows owners to see the "phone's intricacies" easily.

As per our report, the Mi 8 Pro is indeed the Mi 8 Explorer Edition that was launched in China on May this year as opposed to this similarly named variant that was released in China a few months later.

Moreover, the manufacturer has also highlighted the clarity present in selfies taken on the phone's 20-megapixel front-facing sensor.

Xiaomi, the world's fourth ranked smartphone maker, entered Britain on Thursday with the global debut of its flagship Mi 8 Pro, which it hopes will win fans in a market dominated by Samsung and Apple.
