CEO Andy Jassy said his company has spent a decent amount of time understanding why customers want blockchain rather than just a database, denying during his AWS re:Invent keynote that AWS was avoiding heading down the distributed ledger path.
"I think we are entering this golden age of what is going to be possible in applications, and in five years from now or 10 years from now, I think virtually every application will have machine learning and AI in it". They need more powerful compute instances that allow them to scale their models better; they need a way to actually support all of the frameworks they want to do training with. Additioanlly, including members and deploying applications are also showing involvement.
"We are not overspending on ML".
"That is why you see us spending so much time, energy and investment in the ML and AL space", Jassy told the gathering at the company's annual flagship "ReInvent 2018" conference here. It takes inputs such as customers' or users' activity streams, inventory (there's little point recommending a product you can't supply) and demographics; builds a recommendation model that's private to the AWS customer; and provides an API for recommendation and personalisation.
"This is a technology that has been nearly completely out of reach to all but the most well-funded and -motivated organizations", the AWS AI programs leader Matt Wood said on November 28, when the DeepRacer was launched during the AWS re:Invent 2018 in Las Vegas, the United States.
"You can expect that we are not close to being done". AWS on its website commented on its managed blockchain service informing on how it will operate.
Using a camera to view the track and a reinforcement model to control throttle and steering, the auto shows how a model trained in a simulated environment can be transferred to the real-world.

The top four teams at the end of the World Series season will automatically qualify for the 2020 Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo. It completed a Dubai double for New Zealand, who also won the women's competition on Friday .

"By applying reinforcement learning techniques, we are able to reduce the size of our trained models while achieving the right balance between network compression and model accuracy", said Keith Bigelow, Senior Vice President of Edison Portfolio Strategy, GE Healthcare. Further, the changes done are cryptographically chained and verifiable.
In prior years at re:Invent, AWS rolled out products to help clients move massive amounts of data into Amazon's data centers.
Prepackaged machine learning models for common business tasks-demand forecasting, data preparation, natural language processing-can now be purchased in AWS Marketplace and deployed to Amazon SageMaker. VMware also announced its new integrated offering - VMware Cloud Foundation for EC2.
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is the natural place to have a data lake because of all of the security, access control, operational performance, functionality, and management controls it offers, as well as the proximity to the analytics and machine learning services available in AWS.
This is good news for the overall industry but not for specific cryptocurrencies.
