Patriots owner Robert Kraft took a page out of coach Bill Belichick's media playbook when asked about the latest head coaching rumors involving offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. But media scrutiny became more intense in recent weeks of the relationship behind the scenes, and Moss, of course, had a front-row seat to the player-coach interaction for the duration of McCarthy's tenure.

During the 2018 offseason, McDaniels seemed to be joining the Indianapolis Colts as their next head coach, but he bailed at the last minute, which left them to restart their search. "I don't really pay too much attention to it".

McDaniels is certainly worthy of consideration for the head coaching vacancy; he's an offensive football wizard, and his resume in New England working under Belichick speaks wonders.

The Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns will be attractive job openings this National Football League offseason, as one has Aaron Rodgers, and the other has a young and upcoming rebuilding roster and Baker Mayfield in place.

During a Tuesday conference call, McDaniels acknowledged that becoming an National Football League head coach again is something he'd like to accomplish. "But again, I'm not anxious about that right now", he said earlier this week of possibly taking another head coaching gig.

"I care about winning Sunday", Kraft said.

"If that's in the cards for me, then that's great".
