CNN offices in NY have again been evacuated because of a phoned-in bomb threat, though the police have issued an all-clear message.
A preliminary search by security found nothing, and the NYPD was conducting a search as a precaution, the police official said. The NYPD said they were investigating. In the meantime, the network has gone to taped programming.
All vehicles and pedestrian traffic around the building were blocked as bomb squads went from room to room.
'We were told to evacuate the building and to do it as soon as possible.
The call came in after 10 p.m., and the news network briefly switched to pretaped programming, before cutting to live shots of newscasters, employees and onlookers standing behind police barricades outside the building.
CNN anchor Brian Stelter said that the building had been evacuated.
Initial reports conflicted about the precise time of the bomb threat itself, raising questions about whether Trump's tweet might have instigated the attack.
After a sweep of the building, police did not find any explosives and employees were allowed back inside the building just after 11pm. Earlier in the night, Trump had lambasted the "fake news media" on Twitter as well, falsely claiming that reporters don't mention the Republican midterm gains in the Senate.
In October, the building was partially evacuated after a suspicious package containing a crude pipe bomb was delivered to the company.
