Holding suffered the injury during Wednesday night's 2-2 draw at Manchester United - with Arsenal immediately fearing the worst over their young defender.

Jose Mourinho is staying at Manchester United and the club are happy with his work, according to his agent Jorge Mendes, the influential deal-maker who controls so many of football's biggest names.

A point against Arsenal left United without a win in four Premier League games ahead of Fulham's visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Mourinho, speaking after the game, made a point of praising the entire back five which started the game for leaving their souls on the pitch.

Mourinho has made clear that Fred's time will come, but does not believe the midfielder is yet ready to play regularly in the Premier League.

United's goal difference is -1, having allowed 25 goals and scored 24, and Mourinho cited this.

"[We are taking it] step by step", Mourinho said when asked about Fred in Friday's media conference.

"I think that when the team is defensively stronger and doesn't need in midfield people who are more anxious about giving balance in the team than creativity, and the day we are stronger defensively, then the horizons change for Fred".

"Step by step, you have also other players in other clubs that needed their time and you have some of them that played even less than... The spirit and fight is there and we will get there".

"But I prefer to say the team as a team had that mentality and we have to try to transport to this game (against Fulham)". One of the things have noticed in England is that there are no weak games in the Premier League.
