Both players are legends of the game when it comes to numbers, but it turns out Brazilian great Pele is not as big a fan of Argentina's Lionel Messi.
Football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé has stated that he is out of the league of five-time Ballon d'Or victor, Lionel Messi and there is no basis for comparison.
He continued: "How can you compare?"
"How are you going to compare someone who headed well and kicked a football with his left and right foot with someone who only used one foot, only had one skill and didn't head well?", Pele asked.
The Argentine has shared plaudits as the best footballer with Cristiano Ronaldo, with the pair winning 10 of the last 11 Ballon d'Or awards until Luka Modric ended their duopoly this year. "He had bad luck because the team didn't win the World Cup and he was branded", Pele said.
The football icon from Brazil is of the opinion that he was a better footballer than Messi, who "only has one skill".
YouTube Rewind 2018 is Here and it’s a Disappointing Mess
YouTube's head of culture and trends, Kevin Allocca, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss this year's list. Another YouTube Rewind 2018 snub would certainly be all of the controversy surrounding Logan Paul.
"It's hard to defend Neymar for all the things he does besides playing football", Pele added.
Brazil superstar Neymar came under fire for his on-field theatrics at the World Cup, where the Selecao were beaten in the quarter-finals by Belgium.
"As far as I'm concerned, Maradona was one of the best players ever". Much better. Was still Beckenbauer, Cruyff.
Pele, who won three World Cups, has also suggested that a number of other players sit above the 31-year-old in terms of all-time standing.
"I don't feel any more pain, but I feel some weakness".
"I told him he had football to spare, I've been to Europe twice with him recently, we have discussed it and I explained it to him".
